We have a Sharp MX-850 that has a large capacity tray. It has about .5 mill copies on it. It does make noise when feeding paper from that tray.
The customer stated that the rollers were changed "recently" on the tray. This was not though us so I don't have a way to verify if thats true or not.
I'll be going back tomorrow and changing the rollers just in case and keep everyone posted on if that gets rid of the noise.
They also complained of some jamming, however after about 150 copies there was one jam from that tray. It could be that the paper was not fluffed up correctly.
