[Misc] Sharp MX 4140 displays just and X and locks up

Hey all, I'm working of an MX 4140 that locks up with an x on the display as shown in the attachment. Firmware is up to date, all memory reseated, CF card reseated, SD card replaced and display reset to factory default.

Any ideas????

Can't say that I have ever seen that......

If you plug into network, do you have web access?

If machine pulls IP address via DHCP you can locate using driver install routine, or utility such as Angry IP scanner.

You mention "Display set to factory default" How was that accomplished?

Do you get Sharp logo at boot?

I have seen this and it turned out to be the custom background they were using on the home screen.

for me that looks like a dp switch for touch calibration on
