MX2610 polished grooves on mag roller

About three weeks back I got a call for poor black quality on an MX2610. There were polished grooves on the mag roller. Replaced black DV unit, DV, drum and MC unit. Now the grooves have returned. I'm not making any sense out of this one. Colors are all fine. Really don't want to just throw another DV unit and bag of DV at the problem. Has anybody else seen this?20160401_151248.jpg20160401_150933.jpg

I have seen this, but am not certain that toner 'rocks' caught in the doctor blade cause this. Pull your black toner cartridge out and give it a shake - if it rattles, you found the problem.

I'd also replace the drum unit a complete unit & not just a rebuild either - also is it OEM toner?

Thanks for the replies. Toner rocks make perfect sense. Also, all supplies are OEM. I will try suggestions and see where that leads.

Just an update. Replaced black toner, DV unit and DV. After 2 weeks still looks good. Couldn't hear anything unusual when toner cartridge was shaken, but if slowly tilted you could hear some funny noises. The other tech likened it to a rainstick. Thanks for putting me back on the right path. Just one of those days I was trying to make things harder than normal.

I have seen this a few times, most of the time it was accompanied by metal shards, most likely from the mag roller itself.
