    SHARP MX 5001

    Greetings,

I have a Sharp MX 5001, It has a error code L4-45 fan motor error, I have replaced the Fan on the back of the Copier but still get the Code, the manual talks about fans 1 & 2, but I do not know the part number for the second fan, I am assuming they are talking about the one located directly above the black imaging unit ? can I ask if someone can verify that is in fact the second fan ? and the part number ?

    Thank you very much

That is an error code regarding the toner cooling fan. Use sim 6-2 and spin up the PCSFM fan to find it. Its a little fan and should be sitting next to the toner bottles. It's a little tight, but easy to get to.

Look at the parts manual. Looks like the 5000 and 5001 has one fan on the right, but also one on the left.

If you no idea where they are look on the fans and filters diagram in the service model. Or use sim 6.2 and spin them up. It's not impossible that the one on the right is jammed because it sits on its belly, so I recommend taking a look before ordering the parts.
