Hi guys & gals. I was wondering if anyone could give me a guestimate on the average life cycle of a Sharp MX2700N. Our machine has about 700,000 black & white copies & 162,000 color copies & seems to be having more & more problems that require servicing. Should we expect a slow death on her or can we still get some decent life out of her? I am not finding much helpful information with google so hopefully someone here has some insight. Thanks a million!

Re: Average lifetime for Sharp MX2700N
Think of it like a high mileage car. You can keep it going, but it is less reliable than a new car. Those are high counts on that machine, but it's an old machine, so that's normal. Like 100k+ miles on a car from 2005.
If you are on a maintenance plan, and the downtime isn't critical, than you can stick with it because parts for repair are still available through Sharp(for now). If you pay out of pocket for repairs than I think it's time for a new machine.Comment

Time for a new one. That model in my mind was kind of a turd to begin with. Sharp has had several models since that one and they have gotten better with each one.Comment
