    MX-C300W can't clear maint required.

New customer. has the triangle with ! inside and maint required. Customer had put in new waste toner and 3 color drums. (we checked their boxes to make certain something not wrong there)
    Color meter 40K, black 21 K.
Went into service mode. Cleared maint area, drums and all areas that usually get cleared on most Sharps.
Can press OK and make a copy but then message just keeps returning. and they have to go through that each time... and if message is on, then can't print to it without going to machine and pressing OK>

ANY IDEAS or help much appreciated.

If its just saying maintenance required then its probably just the maintenance counter that needs to be cleared unless its stating something specific that needs to be changed. I am not very familiar with that model but that's what it sounds like.

From what I see there are 2 different maintenance counters one regular maintenance counter and one for color maybe you missed one?

Simulation 21-1 is for maintenance counter and needs to be changed to 999.
This will get rid of maintenance needed messages.
Also if that does not work i have found that after changing all drums and developers that you need to reset all sim24's including fuser and transfer unit resets to get rid of the message some times.
Don't know why it is not specific to the part like it should be but sometimes it is not.
In addition to above you do not need to replace any parts to reset all maintenance items but i would note in service log in case you get some messed up copy quality.
        Hope this helps good luck!!!!!!

Make sure to clear the jam/trouble code counters too. I think it actually triggers the maintenance light if it's not cleared with the others. It's under SIM 24-1

If you have a service contract with this machine, I disagree about setting the maintenance counters to 999.

If I remember correctly there is another page if you scroll over or down for the maintenance counter resets on this model. I had this same problem before. I wish I could remember specifics for you but hope this helps anyways.

I had this problem today. I was not able to find the black drum unit maintenance counter clear simulation code. The black drum maintenance counter will not automatically reset when a new black drum unit is installed. Although the tech manual seems to suggest it will automatically reset.

The black drum maintenance counter clear simulation code is found under sim 24, but you must scroll down with the arrow key to find it. If I remember correctly it is 24-13. The tech manual does not list it under the simulation codes.
