Sharp mx-2700n Error code F2-40

I recently had an issue with refilling a toner cartridge with bad black toner. I took out the developing unit and emptied it. I put new toner in DU and new toner cartridge.

I notice that when I hand turn the silver roller in the DU, the toner does not stick to it as it did before.

Yes, I did take off top and sides of DU.

I am also getting error code f2-40.

I ran 25-1 and K is 22.

Thoughts?

I hope you meant to say you took out the old developer and replaced it with new developer.
Toner doesn't stick to the mag roller on it's own, that's what the developer is for.

You already know this though...... right?

Your developer is gone. you will need to get new developer and I would suggest a drum and drum kit. Then you will have to do DV mix and calibration.

If you used bad toner, it's possible the toner pipe is clogged.
The low K reading a sign the toner cant get from the cartridge to the DU.
Or, there might be something wrong with the sensor/harness.

The low reading is because the developer is gone!

I was assuming he already replaced the developer.

I knew that, but didn't think it through in my frustration with the bad toner. I need to walk away when I get to that point.

I mean, this was 6 years ago, doubt OP remembers.

But I assume based on the thread, he changed the DV.
