    MX-2610N with F2-40

F2-40 on MX-2610N. Customer had just moved machine to new office. Don't know if F2-40 was already on machine at old place but will find out tomorrow morn. If it happened after moving I will assume possibility of toner added to dev in move.

Not familiar with this machine but if I remove toner cartridge and do a simulation 25-01 and get TDC-K value and if below normal level then run sky shots until okay. Please advise if this sounds okay. naturally i will check toner cartridge and make sure seal is not on etc and shake it etc.

I could make sure developer unit has enough developer as well.

Please advise. Your help is greatly appreciated. Frank/Action\Photocopy

it sounds like you're on to something...maybe bring developer just in case you need it... make sure you upgrade the firmware...there were changes concerning F2-4X codes...

changed developer and ran 25-02 . Did not execute successfully

      tcs-k =ee eu

      vol-k =60

      vom-k =76

      tsg-k =76

I didn't inspect dv unit carefully and suspect I should order new dv unit..and start over with fresh developer.
Any other input is very much appreciated. Frank

Could be a dirty/bad density sensor.

Thank you Noel. Sometimes I forget to do the obvious. I should have cleaned the sensor before installing developer. First time I worked on this series and I don't like it. I assume tads is on bottom of dv unit. Frank

Yup. Just be careful prying it out of the unit.

I had a similar issue and it turned out to be sticky toner stuck on the sensor. That said, I didn't get the error you did, so it could be a toner drop issue as well.

Had changed new dv unit and still very poor quality. Not readable. Light but with a sort of bias problem look. Customer does not want to go forward and is interested in changing machine. Thanks guys. Frank

I know its a bit late but I would suspect moving the copier with toner in has done as you said and added toner.

The developer unit is very sensitive and when values go wrong the developer powder needs changed. I've seen light copies after a developer change but this is cured by a full colour calibration.
