sharp al 2030 lamp stays on

al 2030 I know its old but we have 10 or so in the field. the scanner keeps cycling about an inch or so and the lamp stays on 2 of them are doing this,

The lamp is trying to find home position. Check the home sensor on the lamp unit.

Blow out the dust, clean what you can, grease the rails.

I agree with swiss, the rails on these get very dry and dont move correctly over time. Grease or Oil them up and clean the paper dust from the sensors and you should be good. Also check the scanner lock isn't in place hanging it up under the scan unit where the paper exits there is a knob there.
