I am working on a Sharp MX-5141N that was re-branded through HP to a HP Color MFP S951n. The machines are identical through and through except for the model number and logo being changed from Sharp to HP.
The issue I have been fighting is the firmware update process. We have been told by HP that the firmware from Sharp for the MX-5141 should work without issue. We even confirmed that the models corresponded to each other. Attempting an update through SIM 49-1 leads to a code signing error. We were then told that the firmware should be updated through the web interface. Tried that and it came back with "ERROR [3000]: Processing failed. (1A95531B:534:298)". I attempted some google-fu on the error, but all I could find was somebody suggesting it was related to to many users being logged into the machine at the same time?. The service manual was no help with regards to the error code, at least that I could find.
I examined the firmware update bulletin HP sent to us and it listed a website to get the firmware from (which was not Sharp's site). The website doesn't appear to actually exist, but we did get the HP guy to send us a copy of the firmware. We tried updating the firmware in the machine both through SIM 49-1 and the web interface with the same results as above.
I'm hoping someone here has either worked with these HP re-branded machines, or has seen this error before.
As a note: This is the second of these machines that this has been an issue.
