    Sharp - copy colour alignement

    Hello

I have got a Sharp MX-2301n which shifts colors on copied documents (from ADF and glass). Prints are fine. Please see attached photos and advise what SIM should I run to correct it.

    Thanks

First I would try doing Simulation 44-2 then 50-22 if the values on 50-22 come back as *NG* you need to adjust the blue screw below each drum unit left or right for the color it shows NG for. Usually it may say L7 NG that means you need to adjust 5-6 clicks left or R for right for either the Magenta yellow or cyan drum. After adjusting each NG value rerun Sim 50-22.

If this still does not fix the issue or it comes back after a day or two, it can be either drums or transfer belt problem.

Are the copies from the glass distorted, out of focus or skewed as well? If so, you may have a scanner unit or CCD out of adjustment. I say that because if the prints look good, the laser unit adjustments should be good.

        Thanks for your reply.

I have don this adjustment and have OK values now but problem still persist. Are there any other adj which may help?

(By the way which sim is for skew adjustment after replacing transfer belt)

No copies are not distorted. How can I adjust scanner unit or CCD?

Being you have no quality issues on prints, that basically means you have a scanner issue. Have you sent a scan to a computer to confirm? Have you tried using the SIT chart to calibrate the scanner? I would start there. Most of your scanner adjustments will be in simulation 63. If that does not resolve the issue then you may be looking at possibly scanner board or ccd, mirrors, etc. You could try removing the ROM sticks on the scanner control board, take them out, clean contact pins with alcohol and re-seating them.

There is a bulletin for this model. Although, it's a tech tip.

Could you add this file as an attachment please? I cannot read from this pic.
                Thanks

I think this is the one.

                    Thats the one.

In my experience, the drum shaft gear does not engage with the Drum/Joint gear in the drive. If you take out the drive, and look at the gear that pushes against the drum shaft gear, you will notice that it doesn't bounce back. This is because the grease has become sticky.

What I have done, is cleaned all four gears, and put in these polysliders found in the following bulletin. Priority is High.

                    Good luck

BUT, if this was the case, the prints would be showing the same issue.

That's why I was saying I think it has to do with the top of the machine.
