I was wondering if anybody else was haveing issues with this series of machines having SD cards fail. The symptom has been stuck in a please wait screen. We have had enough that we now stock the card on the shelf. Just hoping for some direction on this thanks in advance

Re: MX5141/4141
To be honest I have never had an SD card fail on the 200+ machines I have in the field on this series or any other series that uses the SDcard however, there are many tech bulletins about this issue and it seems to be a fairly common problem. Only issues I usually have is someone kicks the machine or moves it and it gets knocked out of place just enough to cause a problem, usually reseating it will fix it. But I guess maybe we have just been lucky with them. -
Re: MX5141/4141
Failing sd cards can be replaced with an off the shelf sd card, sharp charges well over 100 dollars for a 10 dollar sd card. Purchase a few good grade sd cards (I use class 10), I replace all of mine with 8gb cards. Get hdd guru raw copy tool, clone a known good sd card from each model family, and write a clone of the model affected to a new 10 dollar card. It allows for same day fixing of bad sd cards, at a major discount. (This was a below the table fix from my Sharp Dsd rep.) Some machines can boot with a bad card, my mxm263s like to boot, but when the start button is pressed the screen says reading origional, and hangs there, no scanner movement, screen becomes unresponsive, they can also hang on the boot animation, or be completely black screened. So far I have only had problems with b/w machines.Where the heck is my spring hook?Comment

Re: MX5141/4141
Just today I had a 4141 screen stuck in "Please Wait" and after cleaning and re-seating All DIMMS, reloading firmware by setting the main board dip switch 1 to update mode stay unchanged. I tried a new HDD and it would not format. So next I got a new SD card from a like Model and it fixed the problem. I reloaded the current firmware and the Copier works fine now. FYIComment
