    [Misc] Mxm260 scanning issues

    Hello everyone, I have this Sharp Mxm260 it's printing and copying very fine, we have been struggling to get it scanning, we always get the error that it's not able to send, it cannot access server check device Web page, after we allowed port 4687 on the network it will scan for about a week and stop again, last week it began to produce scan in gray scale and just yesterday it stopped scanning again , Can any one help me with this machine

    The IP address on your computer that you are scanning to is probably changing which will cause this to happen. It appears that you are using Sharpdesk so if you look in the bottom right corner of your computer screen you will see the Network Scanner icon (should say that it is started), right click on it and in the menu that pops up go to Profile Update a side menu will show then click on Update Now. You will get 1 of 3 messages;

    1. No profiles to update (you should now be able to scan)
    2. Operation 1 of 1 (or however many profiles you have) completed successfully (you should be able to scan)
    3. Operation 0 of 1 completed successfully (you have some other issue that will need to be addressed by your IT people)

    This is pretty common with Sharpesk. You can fix this issue by several means but the easiest (IMHO) is to give all of your computers and copiers static IP addresses or setup scan to a network folder.

    Good luck.

        I believe so but you should have your IT people set it up, it's not too hard but depending on your operating system there can be some issues. If you search the forum you will find how to do this. I normally use scan to email as an alternate means of scanning since it is pretty easy to setup and use although there is a file size limit based on your email account.

        Good luck.
