    [Misc] MX300W fax issues

We have some MX300W's that are having issues with VOIP faxing? Any ideas?

Does the VOIP box change the setting to a analog line? If not, I think you are SOL. If it does, change settings that work best with digital lines. Make sure the baud rate is at 9600, turn V.34 to invalid, remove the JBIG compression and may have to try shutting ECM off.

I use these settings with Comcast phones and they seem to work fine. I happen to work with a VOIP box and that is the setup that they looked for yesterday.

Faxing over VoIP, the correct configuration settings that you need to make.

Be sure call waiting is not active on the phone line.

I had a problem with a location dropping fax communications during the fax reception and found call waiting was active on the fax line.

The tone that was generated when another call was coming in would cause the fax unit to hang up.

Comcast offers call waiting for free, so they install it on all lines unless told otherwise.
