    [Misc] MX-C300W email alerts

I went to a disgruntled customer today who's mxc300 had totally ran out of toner. The machine is set up for status and alerts emails and we get emails at the end of the month with meter readings but never had any alert emails about the toner?

I checked the settings they all
Look ok, I forced a paper jam and I got an email stating paper jam, but putting the empty toner back in I didn't get any toner alert emails.

    Is there another setting?

when setting up this machine it does not show what alerts are available on this model, and the manual only states:
E-mail alert messages allow you to receive e-mail notifications when there is a printer error.
The Alerts Message function notifies the administrator or dealer by e-mail when machine trouble occurs.

I cannot find any other information in the manuals.

Has the simulation been changed on the MFP for toner level reporting? There is a simulation (26-69) that can be used to customize status and email alerts. Sharp released a tech tip # TT-012516_5 that talks about the suggested settings for optimal toner reporting. For more info on the options for toner levels and alerts just look up sim 26-69 in the manual. It describes it pretty well.

Also, there are a lot of very CHEAP DCA services available.
We're talking about 70 cents per machine a month type a deal.
DCA allows you to see toner levels in real time, as well as print counts, and other various maintenance message. Really incredibly useful, and they have become an invaluable tool for us.

On another note, some machines have a check list for alerts. Make sure the toner alerts are checked!

I have found that Sharps only email for low toner if a print job is sent, after the toner has entered the empty condition.

Unlike the Ricohs, which send a report as soon as the empty bottle is replaced.

This can be a problem if you have a low volume machine, which runs out/

Been back to the machine, checked sim 26-69, item F is set to 1 which is on, email address in alerts is correct and the email set up all works ok but still do not get alerts for low toner and out of toner?
