    MX2600 Change DV Units CMY!

MX-2600 has less than 40k in it's life. 20k Monochrome and 20k Color.

We cleaned the machine, went through calibration process and cleaning to be sold. It printed beautifully! And we had it running for a few days for print projects.

Then, completely randomly... when we turned the machine on for a quick check... it said "CHANGE DEVELOPING UNIT [C][M][Y]"

We have another 2600 in the back, we swapped units and the machine works fine. We called support, they said clear counters, and run 25-2. No avail.

    Suggestions?

When you ran the sim 25-2 did you get a normal toner density read or did you get an EE error?

No errors outside of "Check DV Unit. BUT! I noticed something... The values for VO_L and M are low for CMY.
      How does this happen?

The following is the SIM 22-6 Print out before the problem weeks ago. They are a little high.
      And the 25-02 for today.

Sometimes the DV unit goes "bad". Because they all have poor readings, chances are you are overtoned. If you can just replace the DV and run 25-2 that would be best. Check levels with 25-1. Be sure to take out the toner when using sim 25. You can disable DV checks and try to empty the toner with sky shots. The new DV option is best because the mixture in is set up to give the machine a good point of reference, trying to empty out the toner can be frustrating.

You have to clear DV counters after you run initial setting of toner density. Do not run 25-2 if you installed a DV unit from another machine, coz there is toner in it already.

Empty DV units thoroughly, replace MX-31NVSA, remove color toner from the machine, run 25-2, then clear DV counters 24-5 C, M, Y, install color toner.
Check with the manual, I believe Sharp suggests to run 50-22 after working on DV and drum units.

If the readings are low (overtoned), you can disabled toner sense, and run several 'sky shots' until 25-1 comes into range. Then run 25-2; always run 25-1/2 with toners removed, as mentioned above, and also when moving machine to it's new location.
Any time supplies (drums, DV, MK, firmware) are replaced / updated, you must go through the calibration.
