Micro toner?

    Micro toner?

    Got a call from customer today asked me if he needs micro toner to print checks on his mxm 260? First time for this question.Any input? Thanks dave

    .The MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) toner is only required if they are printing the routing and account numbers on the bottom of check, The magnetic readers at the bank read the bottom of the check for that info. I don't think Sharp has MICR toner. You can get MICR toner for HP printers and other brands, also Troy has MICR toner and they used to convert HP printers to run the micr toner and embed the font for the charcaters at the bottom of the check.

    Banks can also read the check optically, so I would have customer check with their bank.
