Re: Sharp MX-2700N color issue
Oh it's not that they're hard to work on. It's just that with the age and the numbers that they're all up to buy now they just take a lot of labor. I don't mind working on them. I mean you can do a full PM on one in 90 minutes.

I agree with the age thing, back in the day, they weren't bad box's ( minus those crappy charge corona units) and put out decent color compared to the BC series; speaking of maintenance hogs, I believe they had the crappiest developing units and leaking fuser oil tanks.Comment

I've been lucky. Never had to deal with much older than a 283

Re: Sharp MX-2700N color issue
Chunks of toner clogging up the doctor blade causing lines, constantly. Install a new toner cartridge and a couple of weeks later... same thing, times that by 4= a lot of trips to diagnose the same issue in a months time. I worked for a corporation that used remote tech, they had the call back ratio set to two weeks for each call, the service manager was bitching at all the techs for the call back percentage, I know it sure killed my percentage. Turns out, it was all on the AR BC series, needless to say the company had to make a few adjustments to remote tech after a few heated discussions. I hated those developer drive gears that cracked in the back... I would always get my forearm stuck trying to replace them.Comment
