[Misc] Sharp MX-623N & 465 - Servers are not found - can only scan to desktop folder

Hello, we are trying to let our users scan directly to Network Folders. For a few months this worked fine on our MX623N Sharp copiers, but at some point in the past 6 months this stopped working. I cannot pinpoint the change.

We have DNS, SMTP, LDAP all working fine. We can scan to email no problem. We use (EDIT - We do use SMB) and our file servers are Windows 2012 R2.

One of our admins can still scan directly to their PC desktop but not to any of their network drives on a copier which 6 months ago used to scan to Network drive folders with no problem. Now the error that comes up says :

"Selected Servers are not found. Consult Your Network Administrator"

Example of the path he has full access to that we used to be able to scan to: \\hqsrvf06\groups\IT\service desk\scans

Desktop path the admin CAN still successfully scan to : \\hqdt38555\c$\Users\jsmith\Desktop

Fixes an issue in which you cannot use certain third-party devices to send a document to a shared folder. This issue occurs in Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2.

Isn't it SMB 3.0 that is related to the server 2012 R2

I guess that's where I'm confused, as far as I know from talking to some of our network admins, we only use NTFS and not SMB...

            Two different things...............

In computer networking, Server Message Block (SMB), one version of which was also known as Common Internet File System (CIFS, /ˈsɪfs/),[1][2] operates as an application-layer network protocol[3] mainly used for providing shared access to files, printers, and serial ports and miscellaneous communications between nodes on a network. It also provides an authenticated inter-process communication mechanism. Most usage of SMB involves computers running Microsoft Windows, where it was known as "Microsoft Windows Network" before the subsequent introduction of Active Directory. Corresponding Windows services are LAN Manager Server (for the server component) and LAN Manager Workstation (for the client component).

            NTFS
(NT file system; sometimes New Technology File System) is the file system that the Windows NT operating system uses for storing and retrieving files on a hard disk.
            NTFS
is the Windows NT equivalent of the Windows 95 file allocation table (FAT) and the OS/2 High Performance File System (HPFS).

Thank you very much! I'll let you know once we apply this if it works!

I know this sounds ridiculous. But yesterday I got this message when setting up a PC with Sharp using SMB network scanning.
So I simply changed the Hostname to the IP address in the folder path and it worked fine.

I checked to see if maybe there was a hostname conflict but each computer had a unique hostname.

But, whatever. It worked, left it alone.

TRY putting IP address of the server in instead of the name..
