MX-3501n replace primary belt without treatment?

What would happen if I replace the primary transfer belt only on this model, without doing any stearic acid or strontium titanate treatment? Those are the two the service manual says to use but I don't have either and cannot wait for them to come.

Use toner. It's not ideal but it will work. Also it's kind of messy

Can I use the toner in place of both substances? I found in another thread that yellow toner is the best to use, but it said to use it in place of the starting powder. It didn't mention the second step.

Yes. It's messy and make sure you run a ton of copies. To be sure it's lubed run belt both ways. If it goes easy you are probably ok. Then order a bag of stearic acid for next time.

Without proper lubrication the cleaning blade can flip, causing streaks.

I use both powder, or toner*. Never had an issue (except with the Polaris range, powder was causing problems).

          * Never use Polaris toner on the transfer belt, as it contains developer. Instead, use an older model's toner.
