That sounds like you have a failed SD card on the MFP PWB (think its that board, the one the network cable plugs into).

You will need to make a backup from an existing 2310 SD card and then switch off. Change the card and bingo your in business.

While I think you will need a blank 16Gb SDcard to put the clone on.
