My AR-M450N copier cannot boot in to ready state. Can anyone tell me the problem and solution? I suspect is the firmware corrupted, Is there anyway to re-flash the firmware? The boot flash is m4.20C and the main is m1.0
DOREAMON, do you have a spare M450N or a spare set of chips? If you have a spare set of chips, they do not need to necessarily be M450 chips but they do need to be the same exact type of chips possibly from a machine that had a Data Security kit installed. If you have a spare machine, program the original chips from the down machine using the CN update method using slot CN6. If you do not have a spare machine, but you have a spare set of chips, even if the machine won't boot normally, it may still boot into the rom update mode. Again, use the CN update method to burn each chip individually in slot CN6. It gets a little confusing if you've never done it this way before but with a little patience and trial and error you should be able to figure it out. One quick tip I can give you is that when you use the CN update method, you will upload the rom to the machine first, then scroll through the uploaded roms to select either the boot or the main. This method will work as long as the chips are not already damaged in which case you will get an error upon completion of the programming and you will have to buy a new chip or chips.
