MX-M264N admin login reset

Hello,we got this machine used and someone changed the defaulf admin password. I looked in the manual, on the service webpage, I cannot find how to reset the admin password. If anyone can help I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks.

Try sim 24-30 for the admin password and 24-31 for the service page password.

Thanks,I saw that in the manual but our machine does not have those sims. I put new firmware in hopeing that I would get those sims but no. The service webpage for this machine does not have much of anything and I can't login on the admin side. I don't know why our machine does not have those sims. I also looked at the service Billikens but I did not see anything.

Check sim 22-10 to see if the DSK is installed; if so, than another way is available.

Hard to believe someone buying equipment at that price point would spring for a DSK but anything is possible I guess.

Here are my notes for resetting password on some of the newer color units may be the same for a 264


Admin Password Reset on MX 2615 and newer other models

1.Turn MFP off.
Remove back Panel
Look for double dip switch on MFP Board (should be on upper left corner near SD Card)
Turn switch one to opposite of what it is (switch one not two)
Turn Machine on then enter sim code 24-30 ( it should now be there)
Reset Default admin password by pressing execute
Turn Machine off.
Move Double dips switch one back to original location.
Test operation of password
Reinstall back panel and turn machine on

Thanks Xring and others. I searched more last night and as embarassing as it is to say I found a post where I had this same problem on a different model and the fix was exactly what xring said with the dip switch. I have done that and it worked great.I guess my memory is getting bad. Also should have searched more before I posted.
