[Misc] light copies on a mx-m363n

    Hello everyone,

I could use a little help here with this one. I have a sharp mx-m363n at a customer and it has light copies, my boss started this off by replacing the toner sensor in the dv unit and replacing the dv powder it self, that made no difference in image quality. This is where i took over, i have replaced the entire drum unit, dv unit and transfer roller from a known working unit with no change at all, and i put the supplies from the problem machine in ours and everything was fine.

changing the exposure setting makes no difference on the machine(both from sim settings and panel settings) and this is happening from prints, copies, faxes, and my usb drive.

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Did you run 44-27, 44-06, 44-26, and then run 46-74.

Clean the LSU before you do anything else

I have had this happen with excess humidity in the paper itself, and the other items to check is the power supply and the power connections to the drum unit. It sounds like you have checked everything else.

We had this issue on the same model. It seemed that some of them don't handle compatible toners. Are you using oem toner? It has been about half of them giving us this issue. I hope this helps. I did all the same things you did, and changed the laser unit as well. Turned out to be the toner didn't like that machine

If cleaning the LSU and the calibration doesn't help you may need to change the grid voltage in sim 8-2. I had to do so on an MXM565. Lowered the value by 10 and the customer was happy with the results. Also, when calibrating run sim 44-2.
