This is my 1st post , I have. Sharp MX_M453u , in need to know how to reset the admin password? I am trying to change the time of the energy save . But I can't get in admin password.

I think it can be changed on the web page...under security settings/password change... just realized that ya can't get in without the password..admin should get you in...

Ok, lets get few things strait - first of - it is MXM453u, not MXM453n. They are different at least on op panel size. Plus this machine has security data kit installed. Somebody changed default password for administrator log-in so now if you try them all - you get "password is not verified" respond. And after 3 failed attempts it locks you out for 15 minutes. The question for those who had experience with changing or resetting password on this particular model - can it be done? if yes, what is the procedure. PM me with answer if so. Thanks.

try this...

Admin Password Reset on MX 2615 and newer other models

1.Turn MFP off.
Remove back Panel
Look for double dip switch on MFP Board (should be on upper left corner near SD Card)
Turn switch one to opposite of what it is (switch one not two)
Turn Machine on then enter sim code 24-30 ( it should now be there)
Reset Default admin password by pressing execute
Turn Machine off.
Move Double dips switch one back to original location.
Test operation of password
Reinstall back panel and turn machine on

MXM453u is "older" than MX2615. This procedure does not work on it. I was able to get help on this issue and it can be done but you are going to lose all counters in the process. Because of the security data kit I was forced to reset all the data on MFP board thru second level service access and execution of the 88-8. Thanks to all for helping with this problem.

I haven't seen my 363s with DSKs in ages. Was sim 24-30 or 24-31 not available?

There's always the service page login too on the web browser.

Sim 24-15 was the last one. I do not know if this was due to DSK present or because it was "U" model and not "N".

I was talking to Sharp about this last week. Even on the older machines with a DSK installed sim 24-30 and 24-31 are not available. I was able to get around it by pulling flash roms from a machine with out DSK and installing them did sim 24-30, put the DSK flash roms back in and admin password was reset to default.
