[Error Code] Scan to Windows Server 2016

I came across this today for the very first time, I have a MX3111 which worked fine when scanning to network folder on server 2012, but now keeps saying authentication has failed on 2016??

    Anyone??

Re: Scan to Windows Server 2016

The first "Obvious" answer would be to have their IT people verify the User ID/Password were valid for the new server. (I had one that simply "forgot" to migrate that user ID over to the new server...Don't ask!)

Then I'd check their network connection and see if it's set for "Public". File and Printer sharing is disabled by default on a Public network.

The next thing I would do is check to see if they have "NetBIOS over TCP/IP" enabled in the network adapter settings. Windows "New Thing" is to default everything to "NetBIOS over DHCP", which sometimes causes SMB Scan to File to fail.

    (Control Panel/ Network & Sharing Center/ Ethernet connection/ Properties/ IP v4 Properties/ Advanced/ WINS Tab)

CAUTION: ... Do N O T change any of these settings without the express blessings of the IT Guy in charge!! They tend to get a little bit .... cranky if you do.

    (...once again...don't ask!!)

I'm betting this is a SMB issue...........You will have to have the IT people enable SMB 2

The only Sharps that support SMB 3 scanning are the new xx70's and xx50's
