MX-M465 - cannot clear paper jam.

Is there a problem with the sensors on these copiers? I have a MX-M465N with no right tray and no finisher. The last paper jam is CPFD1_N. I cannot see any piece of paper in the machine. I removed the tray 1 unit, PS unit, drum, DV, fuser and delivery guide right after the fuser. No paper to be seen. Shut the machine off and turn back on, same thing. The copier on screen illustration shows possible location for jams as in the PPD1, PPD2, POD1 and POD2 areas, but there is nothing. All the sensors appear to change states in TC 30-1 and 30-2.

I will be ordering sensors, but I am interested to see if this will be an issue.

    Thanks for any help.

Are your optical sensors dirty? Perhaps you have a broken sensor flag, or one that's sticking.

The actuators move freely and the sensors change states when hitting the different actuators. When I first got there, the PPD2 sensor was dirty, but cleaning it did not solve the issue. Thanks

optical sensor. Worth checking, but it seems like you're on it.

I have seen the same issue with a 465 with a bad sensor in the paper feed unit of tray 1. the sensors in the feed units work in series so if one doesnt work the others wont either. and sometimes they are just flaky, not bad and will cause a delay jam. I have also seen alot of bad ppd2 sensors. not really on the 465 or newer but 5111 and down sometimes have this issue. there is also a firmware update to change some mfp timings to fix false jam detection. I would suggest an update on that if you havent already done it.
