I have a MX2616N that has been posting a FK3 code on the copier screen but will not send us the alert while we are recieving all other alerts from this machine. We have upgraded the firmware and replaced the fuser web end sensor with no luck so we replaced the whole fuser. Since the fuser replacement we have not had the false FK3 code but now it is telling the customer that " no extra memory module is installed" could there be a correlation between the two problems?

Re: false FK3 code
I believe on this model that it displays the code based on rotations as well as when the web has run out... so, you could reset it the first time and it should go out...when it reappears, it means the web has run out and need to be changed...

Re: false FK3 code
Hi Andy ! Brian from the 6240 class in NJ last month here...
if the fuser unit unit count is over 200k, it will throw the fk3 code too. This is true for many of the newer Sharp copiers. Reset under sim 24-4Comment

Re: false FK3 code
Just an update FYI, I replaced the fuser to fix the false FK3 on the screen, we new that the count was not up since the copier has less than 100k copies total. So far the false reading has not come back. I also replaced the flash memory and so far that has worked on the message "no extra memory module installed". Thanks for the advice guys. Hey Brian glad to hear from someone I went to class with. Keep the knees in the breeze and the shiny side up!Comment
