MX-3070N Password reset

I was wondering if the admin password can be reset if the MX-3070N. I have a customer where there IT department changed the admin password and lost it. I am currently locked out of the admin settings and cannot find a admin password reset in the service mode for this model.

How can i reset the password to his default ? (admin)

Not 100% certain, and couldn't find anything in the manual. But today's increased security on everything....pretty sure there is a dip switch on the mfp board that you can flip, reboot, and have PW changed. I'd take a look to see if you can find that. Or call Sharp direct.

i will try the dipswitch trick, i had called sharp but they dont let me know the reset trick. it was only for sharp certified employee's.

I haven't done it on any of the newer models, but there is nothing in the sim modes, so that has to be the way! Let us know how it goes

I was on location and i found 1 dipswitch on the mainboard (see the red circle) this one was for the touch screen calibration.

I can't find the other one, where is it located??

Thank You, i switched both down and i came into the touch screen calibration, so i need set only the right dipswitch down ?

Yes, switch only the right side, keep the left as it was. Make sure to switch it back once you're done.

Thank you, but i havent register an email adres, so when i aquire a reset code, where is it send to ?
or where can i define that email address ? must i register the sharp printer by sharp with his serial number?

you need to be a Sharp authorized dealer, and have to contact tech support, "product key" are normally generated by Sharp corp in Japan. The directions that are in the posted pdf has not been released on the U.S tech support website. If you are not a Sharp dealer, have your sharp dealer contact tech support to get the correct procedure with reference to the posted document.

Hi,
I have a 3070N but through the touch screen i had the 463 // option but when a go on the reset screen i cant write any letter only digits.
And on the motherboard i havent found the switch button.

They removed the dip switch way now, you have to either request a password reset from Sharp directly. Or, do an address backup from a working machine; the admin password is stored in System Settings > System Control > Storage Backup.
