    [Error Code] Sharp MX M363

This customer is a Law office and they are trying to have the copier scan to an FTP private cloud through a company called Abacus. I am falling all over myself trying to figure this out and having no luck... (We are in Oklahoma a little behind the times lol)

Abacus wrote this email to my customer...

"We connected and worked on testing the Scan-to-FTP configuration. Ran into the same Network error issues. Error code CE 00 on the Scanner, and Send Error with Error Cause code 80-0000 as shown from the Job Log."

Any feedback would be a GREAT help Thanks so much

Usually the 80000 error is one of 3 things.

    1 destination cannot be reached

    2 path is not correct

3 username or password is incorrect
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

      First thing to try is......
Under Network settings on the machine, scroll to the PING test and ping 8.8.8.8

This is a google DNS server if you get a reply you will know for certain that the copier is able to "talk to the outside world".

Then from a workstation using a FTP client try same configuration and see if you can upload file to destination registered on the copier, this will ensure the ftp address, user and password are correct.

Thanks so much for your feedback !! I pinged the 8.8.8.8 and it pinged successfully 4 times. I emailed the Abacus company (administrators for FTP private cloud) and let them take it from here...

          Hello All,
I have been working with Doug on this offices scan-to-ftp configuration.

Based on your suggestion mansart, I installed FileZilla client on to client server, and tested sending a file over to the FTP server that we have configured for the client. We have specifically opened ports based on the clients Public IP address to allow communication to the FTP server we have provisioned for them.
          See image below for results.
          • First images shows me connecting to the FTP Server via FileZilla from clients server.
          • Second image shows the actual file on the FTP Server.
            • File sent over showed up immediately.

          • Last Image shows the settings on the actual Sharp MX-M363N that I have configured and continue to get errors for.
            • I have tried several, this is just the latest. I am not against retrying any setting however.

Thank you Doug for making this forum post.

I hope you experts will be able to assist Doug and Myself.

Can you get a better screen shot of the settings page?
            I cannot see your settings
also a screen shot of the settings on the filezilla connection page.

I'm no "forward slash....back slash" expert, but on the sharp have you tried forward slash in the directory field?

                  Re: Sharp MX M363

I would try no slash and forward slash.
go to network settings of the machine and ping the ftp site and make sure you get a response.
also (this should not matter but....) try the username with all lower case as in the filezilla screen

Also you will need the mx-amx2 application module installed.

Is this a google drive location?
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

no need for mx-amx2. this is a scan to ftp. but regardless mx-amx2 is standard on 363

                        Ok, update.

I have tried the follow directory path variations.
                        Address Name: APC Scans
                        Key Name: APC Scans
                        Hostname or IP Address: 65.200.42.7
                        Directory:

All of my efforts have shown either the "Select directory is invalid" or the "Network Error CE-00" error messages on the Scanners display screen

In the Job Status log on the web control panel, each instance of these error shows an additional "Send Error 80-0000"

Wild shot but try <> brackets around username. I once spent 4 hrs trying to fix scan to filezilla. I got one pc to work and got it going. It was an issue with windows. Don't even know what I did and could not get the next pc so I passed it back to the it guys who tried to put it all on me. Probably a little different situation and it was years ago but if windows asks you to restart something do it. Got me out the door. I don't know much about cloud apps either but maybe need update on server or something like that

Anyone suggest pulling the job log from the machine?
It keeps the record of ALL jobs up to 50k. It would also show a more specific error code in some cases.

Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!

I grabbed a small snippet of the Job Log, and put it into Excel format to be able to see it easier.
