I dont do a lot of sharp repairs but i have a mx3500N call and its clicking a lot, seems to be the the small drive belt on the rear of the developer units is slipping around the gears. So i used the 3500/3501 manual and ordered parts the belt in the manual is NBLTH0459FCzz but when i went to install them they are too big by a couple of millimeters the number on the new belt says SM2 88 which i am guessing the 88 is the length in mm, the old belt on the machine says SM2 86. I cant find any other part number for a smaller belt, does anyone know if there is one or if the developer units were updated at some point using this new belt instead. It seems the ones i have would fit on a 2600. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Re: MX 3500N wrong part in manual for dev belt
There are 2 belts in the DV unit. the front belt has 2 part # in my book. The 1 you ordered or NBLTH0494FCZZ. Either one of these should fit. The # referred in the other post is the belt behind this one. The front belt has a white idler pulley that gives the belt its tension. You may not have it routed inside this pulley. See 22-5 in the parts manual.Comment

Re: MX 3500N wrong part in manual for dev belt
The one i want to replace is the belt at the very end of the dev unit there is a white gear on top and a greyish drive gear on bottom with a copper idler i guess you would call it its just a copper bushing on a post to tension the belt. if you were disassembling the dev unit starting at the rear and working forward this would be the first belt to remove. I saw the second belt item #10 in my manual but that looks like the one inside the dev not the one i want at the very back i ordered parts 1, 3 and 4 in the manual section dev 2, and i parts 1 and 3 were correct item 4 shows this belt going through those two gears and part #5 is the copper bushing so i am positive it is item #4 but that belt number in my book is the 0459 belt, the one suggested above the 0445 # is #10 in my book and is the one that goes with the white idler thats not the one i was having an issue with.
I could try the 0494fczz belt and see if that is right. my book didnt have two part #s
thanks for the info guysComment
