[Misc] Sharp MX 3100 Noise issue in ADF

This customer bought a MX 3100 machine from me with 200K. It sits right next to her desk and she is not happy about the noise the ADF makes when being used. What can I do to quiet this down. It is also making noise from the fuser like a loose idler wheel. Any help is surely appreciated Thanks so much !!!

For the fuser noise I would look at the cleaning roller first. Can't say on the ADF. Machines make noise when they run. Does it seem to be an unusual sound?

I've heard the "chainsaw" type noise on all the machines in ADF. Thinking I may quiet it down by changing the feed rollers. The fuser noise I believe is from the cleaning roller. Haven't been back yet. Thanks so much for your feedback. Helps alot

These ADF series are generally just noisy and loud.

Yep, your right about that... ADF feed tires weren't much help

check/replace torque limiters, one-way bearing and shaft for lifting/dropping of pick roller. I think there is a belt tightening procedure for gear on adf drive unit for the gear that drives the pick/feed roller unit?

Take the rear cover off the ADF and there is a feed roller lift belt tensioner. Tightening will eliminate some noise.. Fuser may need to be rebuilt with new bearings and rollers. Bearings rattle over time.
