    Sharp MX-1810u

client just recently replaced drum and developer from it... and toner replenishment's begun after it got an error F2-64. but then again client doesn't do anything on simulations. so when i get there i run simulations with 25-2 without toners and after simulations i inserted toners one after another checked black toner its good. checked developing unit at rear where toner goes in its full, i remove some of the toner on it... again after toner replenishment's Still F2-64 unit got only 35k black and 200k color.

what might be causing the problem?

or with this model of sharp when you replace drum need to replace developing unit as well? just asking!

Did you get EE - EL trouble codes when you ran 25-2?

The maintenance procedure was not followed. WHY DID THE CLIENT PERFORM A PM???

I would replace the DV again with the proper procedure. It is possible the toner density sensor is bad, so be ready for that too.

You are asking the right questions here. I would NEVER let any client change the developer or drum.

Anyways, no worries Service@prt, I would recommend that you re-do the developer replacement procedures.

      • Replace Developer
      • Remove toner.
      • DO NOT CLOSE CABINET
      • Sim 25-2
      • Close Cabinet.
      • Execute Sim 25-2
      • Install Toner.
      • Done.

      I would like to post something from the Service Manual;
Do not perform operations which interrupt the above operation,
such as opening the front cover, entering the SIM mode, and
turning OFF/ON the power. If this precaution is ignored, Trouble
      codes F2-40 - 43 or F2-64 - 67 or a over-toned condition
      may occur.

Last thing, I really recommend adjustment 10-B when you're done. Good luck!

              Might be color Dev. Expensive...

There is talk about using normal black Dev in place of color as an inexpensive alternative...
