    washed out color prints

MX-2615 with up-to-date PM...when we run 44-2, 44-6, 44-27, 44-26 all is ok...when we run 46-74, everything comes out fine except when we scan the printer calibration sheet...the resulting sheet comes out washed out...when color printing, the results are washed out...

color copies good ... color prints washed out... any ideas?

Could you show us some pictures of an internal print? And a copy?

64-5 print would help. What's the PM counter?

Are you putting five sheets of paper on top of your print when you scan it?

I had lightning strike one machine and a firmware fixed the poor calibration.

Also had a transfer roller come loose on a brand new machine that cause had the black to not be present on prints.

Is toner save enabled for printing?? You can enable it just for copying, printing or both in sim 26-18

Check color image density sensor, clean it complete with the grey field

I am factory certified on these models and have spent alot of time with them. That being said, this is what I would do:

Reflash mfp firmware first. Latest version is 7.01 is the latest I believe. I have it if you need it.
Next run calibration in this order
              44-2
50-22 make sure to get these as close to 0.0 as possible.
              44-6
              44-26
              restart
get 5 sheets of blank paper
              run 46-74
put blank pages on top of sheet that prints.
              finish 46-74
              restart

              run test print 64-5

then run test print from pc. DO NOT USE universal driver for testing printing. It has issues and will throw you for a loop.
If your problem stills remains I would suggest replacing the mfp board since the print controller memory is soldered to it.

I have seen this probably 5 times in the 80 or so machines I have in the field. All but 1 was the MFP board. The other was the SD card. I have a way of creating a blank factory sd card for much less and it actually better than what you get from Sharp parts if you need it. Let me know. repn1999@yahoo.com

YOur flash memory is shot. This same thing happened to me recentl, and that was the cause.

we have replaced the MFP board and the SD card ( both new from Sharp)...and still our problem persists...when we run 46-74 everything is good except the last sheet...that is washed out...same thing printing from a PC..both black or color are bleached out...toner save is not on...no errors when running calibrations...as stated previously, the PM is up to date...

Have you cleaned the image density sensors?

it has been observed that when this machine is in full color mode, you can make a color copy of a color original when you hit the color start button; but in auto mode, when you hit the color start button you get a B/W copy...any ideas?...

Might be a long shot but have you considered doing the end of lease feature and wiping the machine back to defaults. I'd also want to go and set initial values in test commands for things like process control, laser power, high voltage, fuser temps etc.

Maybe some body has dicked with this thing.
