    Sharp MX5001

I'm working on a MX5001 that copies and prints monochrome just fine but when you copy or print color the machine jams at the registration roller. I did just replace the drums and cleaning blades on the color units. Everything looked fine but customer was out of magenta toner. I went back when they got more toner and found it had this problem.

    Thank you in advance

Are there any error codes listed in Sim 24? Could be a bad phase sensor.

Its not a jam code it is an error code (F2-52,53,or 54).

I have never ran into that code but the manual says problem with the drum drive unit or the drum phase sensor trouble.

Those are drum phase errors. You can use SIM 30 to check that the sensors are working.
These all go to the PCU board, you may have a PCU issue if sensors are not working.

Do you have a drum unit locking up.

If you didn't put enough powder on the drum the cleaning blade could be restricting the rotation of the drum

Without any feedback from OP regarding jam or fault codes, kind of hard to give anymore ideas that aren't pure speculation.

I see the pri belt drive gear crack often on these. I actually got in the habit of throwing extra powder on the belts if the machine hasn't been serviced in a while to help with that. I have also seen the ppd2 sensor be flaky on these and it was later updated on the 5111 and models after. I have also seen either the PS unit wear out or the plastic drive collars on the rear of the PS unit strip out in the center. At first it will appear random then happen more often then constant. At Lastly I'd run sim 50-28 setup adjustment and registration on all the trays.
