    USB printing / MX-6050N

    can a body print from a PC to a MX-6050N using a USB connection on the back of the MFP?...according to the Sharp help line you can't... sounds wrong to me...

    They are correct. There is not a gdi driver for the newer models and the pcl driver doesn't work.

      If the PC has no ethernet port and the copiers port is free then you can use a USB to ethernet adaptor, and print through that.

      The adaptor will be picked up by the PC as a NIC, and can be configured as such, allowing for printing and scanning through the PCs USB. It is how I used to test print with my tablet, before I got a docking station.

        The USB printer port may work with an older GDI driver however the regular USB port is not live for use even with a USB stick. The idea of using a USB to ethernet adapter in the PC makes the most sense.
