Have a Sharp MX-M264N that doesn't come ready, but rather goes to a white display with "Update Program Init" initially in the top left corner of the display, which then changes to "Version Check" whereby you can scroll thru the ROM versions or change to "FIRM Update from USB memory" or "Create ROM from USB memory". Kinda of like what the AR-M450N's did when you flipped the service switch on. Though in this case, attempting a firmware update from the USB port, when it's in this state, only produces a data error. A working SD card from another 264 does not restore operation - still stuck on the white screen. Put the suspected bad SD card in the working 264 and it codes out with a E7-96 (MFPC PWB DIMM memory check error). Putting MFP (with its good SD card) and PCU boards from our working 264 into this problem 264 also produced the white screen. Not in a hurry to spend $123 with Sharp for an SD card. At least Konica Minolta provided a utility to format and write to their cards, in which case any $5 card would do you. Maybe someone can at least tell me if I should be able to swap SD cards between 2 machines with no ill effects.

Re: Sharp MX-M264N SD Card troubles??
As I mentioned, swapping out the MFP PWB and later both MFP PWB and PCU PWB did NOT resolve the problem. Nor did swapping ICU PWB, unplugging the SPF, or anything else work. This thing's possessed. Not only that, the MFP PWB from the bad machine works in our good machine, from which we were taking the boards. Only it doesn't work in the good machine with it's SD card - that gives you a E7-96 error. If I put back the good machines original SD card, all is well, though of course, not having moved the EPROM gives you wrong page counts, serial #, etc. We have established that we have a bad SD card, but nothing more - it doesn't account for the white screen and the copier not booting up.Comment

Doesn't have a HDD. Can't imagine too many customers for this class of machine needing document filing or confidential print.Comment

Re: Sharp MX-M264N SD Card troubles??
Clone a SD-Card / Kloon een SD-Kaart How about this??
That eliminated the E7-96 error I got when I tried to use that card in our good machine. The white screen was caused by my tech having inadvertantly flipped the CN Update Switch on the MFP PWB when he was in the process of swapping PWB's. You CAN dig your own grave, in this business. My thanks to my contributors!Comment

Re: Sharp MX-M264N SD Card troubles??
Thanks for that link - it led me to the solution. The SD card was indeed corrupt. I rewrote its data using the good SD card I had as the source file - I will next replace it with a new generic SD card with good data.

Re: Sharp MX-M264N SD Card troubles??
Looked it up - MX-2314 may be Euro version of the MX-2310 that was sold in North America. Ours doesn't have built-in PCL6, kinda like that scarecrow that needs a brain. Uses a special driver. Got just one of those - a bit rare.Comment

Thanks a lot.
Do you copy it in a fat 32 sd card?
