    MX-4070 with MX-FN28 Stapling issue

When compiling the paper in the compiler, not all sheets are brought back in. When it goes to staple 1 or 2 sheets will be out 1 to 1.5 inches and miss the staple.

Replaced the roller, shaft and gear that brings the paper back in to the compiler. The shaft and gear are both updated parts.

    Any help is appreciated.

You may be able to disregard. Appears to have something to do with static. Rubbed a fabric softener sheet and has not screwed up in 14 sets. Could not get past one set without screwing up befor.

I have seen this issue and have done the fabric softener sheet thing too. Wanted to point out that there are SEVERAL firmware updates for these, some major having to do with machine timing. May want to look at doing those if you havent already. If you do, make sure and update the OCR firmware before the machine firmware or you may end up with a dead machine.

I have an MX-5071 with FN28 with the same problem.

First page isnt pulled back enough and doesnt get stapled.

        FW is latest.

Just ordered the Gathering roller hoping this will solve it.
