    Sharp MX-3050N F2-67 code

Brand new machine. Installed two weeks ago. Now throwing F2-67 toner supply operation trouble (yellow). Customer was in middle of 100 sets of 4 pages run when code was thrown and cartridge ejected. They had another cartridge installed it. Apparently threw the code again and ejected new cartridge. It will be Monday before able to go see what is going on. Fellow tech at another location told me that Sharp has turned it's cartridge manufacturing over to an aftermarket company and he has gotten lots of bad cartridges. Any thoughts?

I don't know about a change to another toner supply company, but the toners should not be installed while delivering to the customer.

They were not installed. Installation manual says remove tone and developer cartridges during transport which we did.

Still interested in what you found. A few days ago we had a very experienced field tech set up a 3070 in shop.( Not what he usually does) When removing the strings that tether the temporary Mylar developer seals he failed to get the seals out where the toner ctg. feeds the dv units. This didn't cause an issue until toner cartridges were installed then it would pop codes. I cant imagine that you were able to get many copies out without the toner seals open but the call seem similar. We have had some cartridges locked up by toner packing we just beat on them shake them rotate toner drive hub even took plug out to make sure toner was flowing correctly.

These models come with developer in them, DO NOT run 25-2 as with previous Sharp color machines at install.
Go into 25-1 and see what your reading are at, it should be in the 100 to 130 range. If the number is real high, the dv unit is not getting toner.
You could also have a broken auger or a clogged toner feed pipe.

Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!

Panasonic color units came that way also. However what would be the issue if you ran 25-02 without installing toner ctgs. Shouldn't it find the same density values?

Check the yellow toner pipe unit, we had one with a cracked piece out of the box.

Sorry for the delay in replying guys. What happened was similar to what happened in the quote above.

Installation manual says to remove toner and developer cartridges when transporting machine. This was done and to avoid DV spill masking tape was put over supply ports on DV units. When installing once machine was delivered, tech forgot to pull the masking tape off the yellow dv unit toner supply port. Once the customer ran enough copies the machine couldn't get any more yellow toner and ejected the cartridge. When the customer put the new cartridge in the machine popped the chi and ejected the cartridge. Found out the chip was blown after removing the tape and trying to get the machine to come to ready. Oddly the original cartridge that was ejected did not have the chip blown and is being used as we speak.

I remove the toner carts on every delivery, but have never had an issue with the DV units being installed during transit.

Never had a problem leaving DV units left in during delivery, as long as the machine was relatively level?
