[Misc] Sharp MX2310 constantly running??

I have a MX2310 that is running and running on and not going back to standby. If you look at the photo attached you can see the scan lightning symbol at the bottom of the screen. But it's not scanning anything. I've checked the logs and all the settings.

Switch the machine off/on and after warm up the symbol comes back and the machine fires up as if it's going to do something but it doesn't do anything just runs on and on!!

There may be a job stuck that you are not seeing. I would unplug the network cable and fax line, then power cycle the copier. Good luck.

Below comments are not knowing your familiarity with Sharps so not trying to share super obvious unless perhaps you aren;t familiar with them.


Also, depending upon how long "running and running" is and if it ever stops running even for just a moment.
If issue in toner to developer (ex bad toner, toner sensor issue etc.) then machine can run and run but that will usually run, briefly come to ready and then run again trying to get enough toner but since reading isn't correct will finally overtone. (often toner stuck /compacted right at toner sensor in dv unit.

SO other than as post above stated to unplug network and turn off. (Note When turn back on.... LEAVE network cable out) . If still running., have you done electrical lock up clears Sim 13 and 16?
Other perhaps sims to consider 8 for high volt tests
10 for toner motor operation and test.

Final note. Anytime we have "weird electrical or signal issues...all our guys always check proper ground / neutral/hot leg . Even in newer buildings, we at times find voltage on neutral or a somewhat "floating" ground issue.

Try a 67-17 printer memory clear.

If those don't work try reflashing firmware.

Could be as simple as low toner trying to add. Check Levels on LCD for each color.

...or 66-10 if it has a fax kit installed.

maybe if you have something locked in the queue, you may want to reformat the HDD...it takes a while, but I got a machine working by doing this...
