We have a Sharp MX-C301W that is jamming in the ADF. Previously they had a stuck post it note in the ADF which we had to take is apart to remove. We had no further problems for a month and it has now started jamming on single side copies. Duplex copies will work fine. The jam code is PPD2_NA. What we have done is replaced sensors with known working ones, replaced the exit paper feed clutch, replaced the paper feed guide (that allowed the paper to go into the ADF farther before jamming) cleaned all areas of the paper path. All the gears look good but now I am wondering if one of them is cracked along the shaft. Our next option is to order a new ADF Unit if we cannot come up with a solution. We have been out there 3 times now and it is a 2 hour drive one way. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Sharp MX-C301W ADF Jam
The fact that it doesn't Jam double-sided baffles me. I would recommend that you perform an aging test using Sim 7 if it has it, to disable the misfeed detection.
Aging is a great because it allows you to determine whether the Jam is electrical, or mechanical.
Good luck. 👌

Re: Sharp MX-C301W ADF Jam solved
We found a solution to the problem, it was a one way gear on the lower transport roller. We brought the machine into the shop and went through it and roughed up the shaft and it is now working. We are going to order the gear and the transport roller and replace it before sending to back out to the customer. Thanks for everyone's inputComment

Re: Sharp MX-C301W ADF Jam
Sometimes where the one way bearing sits on the shaft gets really smooth and the bearing has no grip left on the shaft you can put a few grooves on the shaft with a file to give it a gripping area. do not do too much a little is all that is needed.Comment
