[Misc] Mx-2640n Tray 2 says empty.

I went out to a customer's place and found out that tray 2 says empty even though it's not. I'm going to run 30-2 and test the tray to see if it's the sensor. I'm going to try swapping tray 1 and 2, see if that does anything. If not the sensor I'm going to try the motor, clean it etc. Other than that I have no other ideas from researching this problem. Doesn't seem like a common problem.

We had this same issue on one of these machines, and it was one of the photo sensors in the paper feed unit under the reinforcement plate.

This is more than likely caused by a bad sensor. Check CPED2 and CLUD2. We usually replace both sensors after disassembly, they aren't very expensive and are known to have issues..

I've had this issue often, many times it was a piece paper that blocked the lift motor from fully engaging to the tray.

Problem solved, bad photo sensor. Fangs firmly dug into the floorboards yesterday I grabbed all the spare parts I had in my shop and headed to the customer's and got it fixed.
