    MX-M3100 Maintenance AA message

I mostly work on Kyocera's, but I've got this one Sharp in my territory which I rarely see, as it's low volume. It just came up with a Maintenance AA message, but I've no idea how to enter Sharp's maintenance mode/service mode to clear the count.

I downloaded the service manual, but the instructions don't seem very clear.

    1) Copy mode key ON → Program key ON → Asterisk (*) key
ON → CLEAR key ON → Asterisk (*) key ON → Ready for
input of a main code of simulation
    2) Entering a main code with the 10-key → START key ON
    3) Entering a sub code with the 10-key → START key ON

Maybe I'm a dolt, but that seems incredibly convoluted.

Once I'm in, I know that I need to go to 24-4 to clear the count. Any clarity would be very much appreciated.

to get into service mode make sure machine is in copy mode then hit the following keys in succession P - * - C - *. It should show a list of the service options. The counters are reset in sim 24-4. You can set the count on when they flag in sim 21-1.

Maintenance code AA means that both the black supplies and color supplies are at the end of life. That being said just resetting the counters is not good because then you are going to leave your customer with copy quality issues later. Both your color and black supplies need to be changed.
