[Error Code] Sharp mx4140 U2-81 error

Have a machine at a customers and once or twice a week it throws this U2-81 error. Customer switches off/on by main switch and it's fine again.

Not really sure where to begin with it?? Could it be SD card related???

This has to do with an error with the EEPROM on the SCU pwb. I would double check all the EEPROMs to be sure they are seated correctly. Be VERY careful when removing, as the pins on these chips are very fragile. Use SIM 16 to cancel the error code. Hope this helps!

Since you say this is intermittent I would check all connectors relating to the PCU and SCU and any options connectors / finisher / ADF. Check AC source (outlet) for clean power as well or use a power filter for the AC to see if the problem subsides. I've had poor harness connections cause EEPROM errors randomly.
