    Sharp MX-2640 error F2-43

    Hi all

i have error F2-43 yellow toner abnormal error...

New toner has been installed and shaken vigorously....

The yellow & magenta drums were replaced recently and neither have wear. It has only printer 3k since they were installed.

On inspection, yellow toner has coated the belt & yellow drum...

The yellow toner down pipe is clear....

i swapped the yellow drum with the cyan drum but fault remained and the drum again coated in yellow...

There is a little wear on the black & cyan drums but don't think they would cause an issue with the yellow?

    Sim 25-1 shows the yellow TSG_Y at 255....the other colours between 117 & 124....

I suspect the issue would be with the yellow dev but the coating of the drum leads me to believe it could be the yellow drum???

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Is it just toner on the drum or perhaps a mix of toner and dev? Check the waste box and see if it's got dev in it. Sharp machines are notorious for arcing at the charge unit (usually contaminated with toner) and it can empty the dev unit really fast. If it's this you'll usually see a 'herring bone' diagonal pattern through solids on the affected colour (the pattern of the stirring augers in the dev unit).

You'll probably need to replace charge and dev if it's this.

PS, wrap a magnetic driver in a poly bag before pushing it into the waste box - easy to tell if there's dev in there and it'll keep your driver clean.
