    MX-FN22 Saddle Stitch Finisher problem

We have a Sharp MX-FN22 Saddle stitch finisher and its been giving a lot of trouble to fix, we have tried all possible options to no avail, F0-84 error code keeps on coming up on the machine MX-7040N but the finisher keeps making a dragging sound, we have checked if a motor is locked but we cant find any such, yet it keeps making a dragging sound whenenver you turn on the machine. We need serious help out of this. Any one with experience of this can help us out please...

We have not had this error code before but this is what it shows in the manual
F0 80 FINISHER POWER COOLING FAN MOTOR ABNORMALITY (FNFAN101)
which would probably cause the noise on start up.

The error we are having is F0-84, not F0-80 like you just mentioned. We need help on solving this issue

Sorry, I looked up the wrong code. I cant be of any help, sorry, these finishers can be a real problem trying to find the source of the problem, especially if they have a lot of copies on them. The last one we worked on we ended up replacing after 600,000 copies as we could not find the problem.

          I GUARANTEE you its a faulty flat-cable.

The white one that connects the staple unit with the finisher mobo.

Had this problem a few times already.

Staple unit stalls, if you push it, it will move. Searched hours on this, but every time, its the flatcable.

Hi boutn, I'm unable to locate any white flat cable, everything seems to be alright, though we are trying to loose bottom plates under the stapler. Please can you further explain this solution to us? Pictures will help if there's any.

Flatcable connects the mobo of the finisher to the stapleunit...
