    mx-6240 secondary belt ripping mx-620b2

Anyone else having a issue with secondary belt ripping on the 6240 shortly after a pm? Happens in the 30-50k range after being replaced with new blade, I've tried yellow toner, white starting power, using nothing, still happens, I'm stumped. I've done a ton of pm's too on this model, doesn't happen on all of them after pm, just enough to drive me nuts, have around 20 assigned to me. (my home away from home)

Same problem here, no idea how to fix it though...

Even tried a brand new sec transfer unit: same problem.

Just a thought, but you may try removing the sep finger from the primary transfer assembly?

There alwast is a lot of toner buildup if you remove the fuser, right below the fuser on the metal plate.

Now i'm cleaning this every maintenance...and all the guides in the paperpath, because there is a lot of toner buildup on these too...maybe a piece that breaks off and rips the B2? I dont know.

I'm just trying this also, so dont know if this is the solution yet

I also have this happen to me just enough to drive me nuts. less often, i also have had the primary belt rip on occasion with no visible cause as to why. I have called Sharp support on the issue in the past and they did not have an answer. makes me feel better that i am not the only one.

Remove these 2x springs from the primary transfer unit. They push the brake onto the ends of the roller, and are very tight, and can cause the roller under the belt to stall which also drives the cleaner box for the primary transfer, there is no direct drive to this cleaner box, it gets its drive via the belt rotation. This in turn causes the cleaner box to stall, and then either the blade to flip, the primary belt to tear or the 2nd transfer to tear due to poor lubrication
