Just wondering if anybody has placed one of these MXB455W out in the field and your impression of them. We have quite a few of the older A4 machines out that are getting a little long in the tooth. I appreciate any feedback.

Re: New Sharp model MXB455W
We are just starting to install these and I have to say, I am not impressed. The machine is wider at the top than the base, so they can tip easily. The paper tray decks use some of the thinnest "metal" I have ever seen. ADF is a very basic system and the paper size setting for the drawers is entirely different from all previous Sharps.
As with most new Sharp products, nothing a dozen firmware updates and retorfits can't fix!

Re: New Sharp model MXB455W
As luck would have it, we had one of these delivered by FedEx today, tipped over on its side. I have come to discover that there is no tape or covering of any kind over the DV units. The other machine have tape, strings, labels, etc...these have nothing.
Needless to say every board in this things is covered in DV material.

Re: New Sharp model MXB455W
At one time it was hard to beat a Sharp for great color and overall reliability, minus a few tech bullitains and some modifications... but those days seem to be gone. Over priced turds, and... seems to be diarrhea as of late. JMHOComment

That is terrible. I guess it proves your top heavy statement. I am not crazy about sending new machines out into the world but sometimes you have no choice. Thanks for the comments and insights.Comment

Re: New Sharp model MXB455W
- failure to continue bulk print.
- machine lock up
- please wait
- failure to check job and pressing... CHECK JOB. Lol.
- locks up when print job is sent in power save mode.
- locks up while switching trays...
You know, this is going to be a fun year for Sharp corp.
We'll just stick to our 3640's and 503's, thank you very much. And 402SC's for the budget conscious clients.Comment

Re: New Sharp model MXB455W
Disappointing to read, the machine fits the ideal spec I want for a job, comes with AMX2 and AMX3 so ideal for use with print management systems too from my point of view.
Would rather put one of these in than a MX-C300/C250/C301 thing!Comment
