We're using MX copiers that support SMB v2 and trying to set up scanning to a macOS Server 5.5 on High Sierra 10.13.3. This setup works at first, but then authentication for all users fail after awhile - between an hour and a day. The only way to recover from this is to restart the Mac's file sharing service. We've also tried a newer Sharp SMB v3 model, and we experienced the same problem. The issue seems to be related to macOS Server, as we didn't have this issue scanning directly to regular High Sierra clients.
Is anyone else using a macOS Server as their network storage? We've tried most of the various SMB options on the macOS Server, without success. In the logs, we see NTLM v2 failing.
By the way, we're using a network time server with the Sharp MX.
Thanks.
