    Unable to print PDFs

I'm working on a MX-6240 that will not print PDFs from a computer (not a mac). It has the standard ps kit and can print pdfs from a usb. Word and excel print fine from a computer. The pdf print job from a pc reaches the the sharp as i can see it in job status menu and then dissappears. User control is not enabled.

    Any ideas?

Have you tried the Print as Image box in the Advanced Printer Properties? I would try that first.

Yes, I should have mentioned that I tried that as well. Also ran 62-8 (format hdd), reset print controller, returned to default setting through webpage. Thank you though

Go into the webpage and try Direct Print. You basically browse to the file on the PC and send it to the machine, bypassing the print driver. If it is reaching the machine and you see it in the queue, something is killing the job before it can render. Pull the job log, it will list a code for print failure and should lead you in the right direction.
If you are able to print the same PDF via USB, print is being restricted somehow.
Also, these are run of the mill PDF files, not PDF/A files...?

This morning I was going through the mfp webpage under printer conditions/postscript settings and checked both "print ps error" and "binary processing". After that mfp would print pdfs. Seemed like an odd solution so i unchecked the boxes as before and pdf continued to print. I really don't know what to think now. These pdfs i was trying to print and ultimately printed are service manuals from the idnc site.

0414 was the error code given when unable to print from pc

Sharp MFPs sometimes have issues with Adobe. One day it will print fine, the next it will start having problems, then it will clear up on its own after a while. I use Foxit, and I have seen posts from other techs on here who use it also, and it seems to work a lot better

414 is a print emulation error, the driver does not like the file. If there are TIFF images, you can get this error.....
